Job Description:
Fastener Innovation Technologies (FIT) and California Screw
Products (CSP) are manufacturing companies specializing in the
design and production of Aerospace Fasteners and are seeking a dual
site Controller that will provide dynamic and pro-active support
and guidance to FIT's & CSP's Presidents to identify key strategic
growth priorities; technical advice and operational financial
support on matters related to internal and external reporting, and
compliance, as well as general financial controls to the senior
management team members.The chosen candidate will report directly
to the Avantus Fastener Group Financial Director, and a dotted line
to both site presidents. There will also be an interactive working
relationship with the Avantus Finance Director in the UK in
ensuring the company fully complies with all Group and entity
specific reporting, compliance, and control obligations.
Supervisory duties include ongoing training, motivation and support
in the management of FIT's and CSP's AP/AR Clerk, Accounting
Manager, Purchasing and I.T. Manager in delivering day-to-day
transaction processing, accountability and accounting control
within the facilities.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the highest standards of integrity in business control,
accounting, and reporting in all matters related to corporate
governance generally are always maintained.
- Coach and support functional leaders within the business to
enable them to deliver their cost reduction targets, including
improving financial acumen (particularly the understanding of how
they contribute to EBITDA improvement), developing analytical
skills and defining appropriate measures and targets for their
teams.
- Pro-active contributor and driver as key member of the FIT &
CSP senior management team in the effective management and
development of FIT & CSP businesses, including strategic
initiatives, targeted improvement initiatives, working capital
management, cost optimization plans and actions, KPI development
and system utilization and maintenance.
- Facilitate monthly close with finance team to ensure timely and
accurate financial reporting to meet fixed corporate
deadlines.
- Preparation of the monthly financial reporting packs using the
BAAN system and Group OneStream Reporting tool, including all
necessary reconciliations and validations within the established
periodic reporting timetable.
- Preparation of analysis and reporting that holds all aspects of
the organization accountable for results, as well as driving each
functional area for improvements.
- Preparation of the consolidation of rolling bi-weekly cash flow
forecasts and review and follow up of all significant
variances.
- Effective management of the payroll function and systems
including time management and legally compliant pay, pension, and
benefit compliance. Includes maintaining up to date records of
workforce benefit participation against qualification criteria and
regular pay benchmarking against market.
- To manage the FIT and CSP budget process, working with the FIT
and CSP Presidents to deliver a budget that is aligned to strategic
and financial objectives of the business.
- Preparation of FIT and CSP full year end accounting submissions
and supplementary and taxation disclosure analyses on a timely
basis. Managing the audit and ongoing liaison with the Group's
external auditors to facilitate an efficient and professional year
end close. Dealing in a prompt and professional manner with ad hoc
queries related to the above.
- Drive disciplined utilization and/or improvement of the BAAN
ERP systems and related business processes and internal controls to
assure effective governance and system driven data integrity.
- Partner with operational and financial leadership to provide
insight into cost data and investigate areas of concern or
variance; willingness to examine cost data down to the production
or bill of materials level and to diagnose issues and collaborate
on actions to remedy or provide transparency.
- To manage and direct finance team staff training and
development as part of the maintenance of a small, but highly
effective team.
- Proactively ensure all relevant personnel compliance training
is completed and being an advocate for compliance training in the
FIT & CSP businesses.
- Perform other such duties related to financial management,
business development and financial stewardship of FIT & CSP which
generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of
responsibility.
- To work in a collaborative manner with the Group FD, Group FPA
and Group Compliance functions on key business development and
compliance requirements and ad hoc projects.We provide equal
