Desktop Systems Specialist, you will play a crucial role in
partnering and consulting with the business to address IT-related
needs onsite at our Carlsbad, California, Location.The
OpportunityYou will collaborate closely with various IT teams to
drive towards effective and efficient solutions. Set priorities for
IT projects and engage appropriate teams. Manage day-to-day IT
activities, ensuring seamless operations and addressing any
IT-related issues promptly. Communicate highly technical
information to both technical and nontechnical employees. Provide
day-to-day technical support to employees for network
infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations,
servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
Participate in the development of information technology and
infrastructure projects. May conduct training programs designed to
educate an organization's computer users about basic and
specialized applications. Will be working in conjunction with
Professional Services and outsourcing functions. Work independently
within guidelines and policies and receive minimal guidance. Act as
a resource for colleagues with less experience and provide
functional guidance.
- Act as a digital enabler for our business colleagues and
functions and be the owner of the digital employee experience for
the respective site.
- Drive employee productivity through consultancy, provide
intimacy and site proximity at the sites, and ensure a personalized
employee experience.
- Manage IT hardware lifecycle management & deskside support for
the site and provide support and guidance for onsite services by
leveraging internal and external providers.
- Present complex technical information to a non-technical
audience in a clear and easy to understand manner. Take ownership
of incidents and act decisively to ensure our customers maintain IT
productivity.
- Provide 2nd level technical resolution in person or via remote
for field based employees for hardware: computers, desktops,
smartphones, tablets and mobile devices.Who You Are
- You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- A bachelor's degree in IT is preferred.

- Enterprise mindset that can break down silos. Focus on delivery
through collaboration and bringing people together to work towards
the same purpose across organizational boundaries.
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity and integrity and have a strong

- Understanding of Roche-supported operating systems, devices,
and applications, including the Google Suite of Applications, MS
Office, etc.
- Experience with ticketing systems and troubleshooting hardware,
software and mobile devices.
- Excellent working knowledge of the ITIL v3 processes in an IT
service delivery.
- Solid written and oral communication skills in
English.Relocation benefits are not available for this job
posting.The expected salary range for this position based on the
primary location of California is $69,300-$128,700. Actual pay will
be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic
location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A
discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and
